This year-round rustic log cabin boasts three bedrooms with a loft, shower, whirlpool and multiple porches. Run by solar and LP heat, Amherst River Dance Cabin is nestled along the curves of the Tomorrow River and offers a place to unwind in nature. Bonus? These cabins are a short drive from the Lettie W. Jensen Community Center, which plays host to eclectic performances and events all year long.

Situated east of Stevens Point, Lake Emily County Park features nearly 70 campsites adjacent to 96-acre Lake Emily. All but the tent sites have electrical hook-up options. This county park offers large picnic areas, two lodges, showers, a boat ramp, playground equipment, a baseball field and nature trails to explore. For a day away from the campsite, head to Central Waters Brewing Company for a tour, and taste of the art of brewing.

#3 – Rivers Edge Campground

At Rivers Edge Campground in Stevens Point, take advantage of the heated pool, recreation hall, sand volleyball courts, jumping pillow, pedal cars, pontoon rentals, easily accessible boat landing and pier. Rivers Edge also plays host to Bullheads Bar & Grill, located directly off of the Wisconsin River.

#4 – Jordan County Park

Located two miles northeast of Stevens Point, Jordan County Park spans over 270 acres and features 22 campsites, two enclosed lodges, nature trails, showers, a trailer dump station, a boat ramp, swimming beach and baseball field. Limited canoe sites are available directly next to the Plover River.
