Food + Farm Exploration Center

The Food + Farm Exploration Center is a great place to combine food, fun, and education. From their immersive, multi-sensory activities, to their exhibits in a state-of-the-art educational center, this is a fantastic spot to bring the kids. And, not only is it great for kids, but there are a lot of good activities and events to interest adults as well, like a farm tech shed, cooking classes, and even the world's largest potato masher! Make sure to come hungry as well so that you can eat at the Colorful Plate Cafe.

Pro Tip: Get tickets in advance, as they tend to sell out quickly!

The Central Wisconsin Children's Museum is a great place for kids to experience different aspects of life. With their variety of exhibits, with themes ranging from art and movies to science and farming, there are many great learning opportunities for your little one to play and learn simultaneously. Plus, they are constantly hosting fun events such as Kids Yoga, Art Mania, and STEM Lab presentations.

Schmeeckle Reserve

Schmeeckle Reserve is a great way to get the kids outdoors and moving while learning about the Earth around them. They have a Lake Loop trail that takes you around Lake Joanis, as well as several other trails, all connecting to the Green Circle Trail. Make sure to check out the visitor center where they have live animal exhibits, a kids' activity area with puppets, books, coloring, and scavenger hunts, as well as a bird viewing area with binoculars and field guides! Schmeeckle also offers educational public programs and events to keep people informed on wildlife and plant life in the area. You also don't want to miss their Candlelight Hike Festival that occurs twice a year (spring and fall) where Schmeeckle comes to life after dark.
