Road Biking in the Stevens Point Area

Prefer the less-traveled route? Find your pace on many of the paved and low-traffic roads throughout rural Portage County. From wetland loops to hill-lined views, there is plenty of variety and beautiful scenery waiting.

Can't Miss List:

  • Begin in the parking lot of Bukolt Park for a scenic ride through rolling hills along Old Wausau Road. Keep the loop short and do 10.2 miles or make it longer for a loop of 12.7 miles.
  • For the intermediate to advanced riders, head out on the West Loop starting at Pfiffner Park in downtown Stevens Point. Looking for a rest stop? Grab a bite to eat and a drink at Rusty's Backwater Saloon.
  • Explore gentle hills and a scenic roadside view at Sunset Lake County Park riding on nearby county roads. After your ride is done, take a dip in the crystal clear, glacier-formed lake.

More suggested routes can be found in our Pedal Paddle Hike Guide (view online or order a copy today).
