Dining Guide

If you prioritize a stop for appetizers, a break for craft beverages, and are always hungry for restaurants with homegrown flavor, here are some recommendations to get you exploring the food scene in the Stevens Point Area.

Hungry for breakfast? Try the ‘Brotomushepperasheese’ at the Wooden Chair. Can’t start the day without a fresh baked goodie? Don’t miss Earthcrust Bakery in the Stevens Point Area Co-op, the Main Grain Bakery or the Village Hive. More of a coffee fanatic? Try an award-winning cup of Joe in the tasting room at Ruby Coffee Roasters in Nelsonville, or a fair trade coffee at Emy J’s. For tea, try one of more than 170 varieties at Diversi-Tea. If you feel breakfast is better as a beverage, head to Rusty’s Backwater Saloon for their infamous Bloody Mary.

Grab lunch at Hilltop Pub & Grill, known for their fish fry, a Wisconsin institution, served daily. Or try the “Marathon of Beers” paired with cheesy Italian Fries at Arbuckle’s Eatery & Pub. For a meal with water views, check out Bullhead’s Bar & Grill, Clear Water Harbor or Tiki Bar on DuBay. Don’t forget to plan a post-lunch stop at Mullin’s Cheese to shop nearly 100 different varieties of cheese. Grab a comfy booth at Cozy Kitchen for a classic diner experience (warm pieces of pie included!).

In season (typically March-October), stop for a sweet treat at Belt’s Soft Serve (order the large cone if you’re up for a challenge) or King Cone, known for award-winning flavors with more than 40 options.

Discover the classic Wisconsin supper club scene with pre-dinner cocktails at Sky Club, Michele’s or another local favorite. For more local flavor, head to The Landmark tucked in downtown Amherst, which often offers live music. Enjoy Wisconsin comfort food with a twist at PJ’s Restaurant at SentryWorld. For a different pairing, don’t miss the food and beer combination at McZ's Brew Pub in Rosholt.
