Winter Farmer's Market

Appetizers

Maple Glazed Brussel Sprouts

This sweet, yet savory dish will be the perfect appetizer to start your meal. Toss 2lbs of Brussels sprouts in 2 tablespoons of Tapped maple syrup and 3 tablespoons olive oil. Then, preheat your oven to 425°F and roast them on a baking sheet for 20 minutes. Pull them out when they look caramelized, golden, and crispy.

Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Pick up 2lbs of sweet potatoes from one of the vendors of your choosing and get to baking some sweet potatoes! Cut the sweet potato into cubes and coat them in 2 tablespoons of your preferred oil. Season with salt and pepper to your liking before putting them in the oven at 425°F for 27-35 minutes (be sure to flip them every 10 minutes).

For a little extra sweetness, add in a tablespoon of brown sugar to your oil.

Savory Dishes

Vegetable Soup

The beauty of the Farmers' Market is building your own vegetable soups to your liking! All you need is broth, your choice of veggies, and spices to your liking. We recommend making this on the stove, but crockpots work just as well! Drop by Lonely Oak Farm or Whitefeather Organics booth to pick out your variety of ingredients.

Classic Baked Potato

Wisconsin is known for it's bountiful potato farms. That being said, the Farmer's Market is the perfect place to pick up large potatoes for a baked potato dinner! Want more toppings? Plenty of the vendors sell meats, dressings, sauces, and veggies to top your delicious baked potato.

BYO Salad

Who doesn't love a good salad? Farm Time Out Aquaponics has a wonderful selection of lettuce bags. If you're looking for microgreens, Sustainable Dreamer has you covered. Venture through all the vendors to find the toppings of your choice. Then, swing by the Stevens Point Co-op to pick up your favorite dressing.

Breakfast Scramble

The Farmers' Market doesn't just stop at dinners. Craft your own breakfast scramble with eggs from Lonely Oak Farm! We recommend spicing it up with tomatoes, peppers, and potatoes from one of the various other vendors as well.

Winter Farmer's Market Pancakes

Sweet Treats

Blueberry Pancakes

Pick up blueberries from Chet's Blueberries stand! These pair well with pancake mix from Feltz Dairy. If you're craving the taste of more homemade, make your own mix!

Apple Chips

For a sweet and tasty snack, grab 2 medium-sized apples from any of the available vendors. Cut the apples into thin rings after removing the core. Mix together 2 teaspoons of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg into a bowl. Then, sprinkle the mixture over a baking sheet with the apple slices. Bake at 225°F for 1 1/2-2 hours. When they're nice and crisp, that's how you'll know they're done.
