  • Stanton W. Mead Education & Visitor Center is a state-owned building which may be used by a variety of groups & organizations for many different purposes. This wildlife area is the third-largest in the state and features 33,000 acres of recreational opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Hunt bear, deer, ducks, geese and small game. Bird watching is always spectacular, 268 species of birds have been recorded here. Directions from Stevens Point: take Hwy. 10 West, 1/2 mile west of the Village of Milladore; turn north on Hwy. S-6.2 miles to Mead (look for signs).
