Flume Creek Cedars features a clear, hard-water trout stream with some small springs. The creek originates in Marathon County, then flows through the northeastern corner of Portage County and finally into the Little Wolf River. Seasonal hiking and cross country trails are offered.
There are two public walk-in access easements: 1) From Rosholt, go south on Highway 49 2.5 miles, then south on N. Lakeview Road 1.3 miles, then south on Linden Road one mile to a walk-in access located east of the road. Walk east 0.25 miles, then north 0.25 miles into the site. 2) From Rosholt, go south on Highway 49 2.5 miles, then south on N. Lakeview Road 2 miles, then south and east on Cedar Road nearly 0.5 miles, then south on an access lane to a DNR parking area. Walk south and west on the easement into the site. The easement is 16.5 feet in width. Please do not trespass on private lands. NOTE: The DNR easement located off Linden Road running east along Flume Creek is for fishing purposes only and cannot be used to access DNR-owned land.
