  • Begin near the Emmons Creek State Fishery, located in southeastern Portage County. Parking is available near Stratton Lake Road in the Fishery. From Stevens Point, take I-39 South to Highway 54 West. Then south on County D, which becomes Stratton Lake Road, parking will be on the right. Portions of this continuous 1,000 mile walking foot path travel through Portage County through diverse landscapes that provides outdoor recreation experiences, preserves geological features. Serves as an educational resource, provides habitat for the movement of wildlife, provides health and vigor for users, and links history and cultures within Wisconsin.
