Amherst Inn

The Amherst Inn, established in 1877, carries an eerie reputation that lingers to this day. Once a charming bed and breakfast, the inn is now believed to be haunted by its former owner, a woman infamous for her foul language and short temper. Visitors have reported unsettling encounters, from hearing her angry curses throughout the halls to the mysterious scent of cigar smoke that drifts throughout the house.

Please Note: The Amherst Inn is no longer in service and is privately owned.
Bloody Bride Bridge

A local legend about the bridge on highway 66 near Jordan County Park, has circulated the Stevens Point area for decades, making it a spooky spot for all those who cross it. On the night of her wedding, a bride was reportedly murdered in a car accident. Since her tragic death, local residents have reported seeing the bride on the bridge late at night.

Boy Scout Lane

By far one of the most famous local legends is the disappearance of a bus full of boy scouts on a camping trip. How they disappeared and the validity of the story is still debatable. Many have reported sightings of glowing lanterns in the woods as well as children's hand prints on car windows.

Please Note: Boy Scout Lane is on private property. The owners have the right to and will contact police on unsolicited visitors.
