Bureau launches Celebrate the Arts Spring Sweepstakes, awarding winner $500 arts package
STEVENS POINT, Wis. (April 7, 2015) – The Stevens Point Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (SPACVB) has launched a new promotion to encourage visitors to learn about the area’s varied arts events and attractions this spring.
The Celebrate the Arts Spring Sweepstakes, which launched last week, highlights the Stevens Point area’s long list of things to see and do in four different categories of art—performing arts, visual arts, culinary arts and the art of brewing and distilling.
Fans who enter the sweepstakes will have a chance to win an arts getaway valued at $500, which will include a two-night stay in Stevens Point, classes at Clay Corner Studio, merchandise from the members of the Central Wisconsin Craft Collective (Point Brewery, O’so Brewing Company, Central Waters Brewing Company, Kozy Yak Brewery and Great Northern Distilling) and more.
“Visitors can find lots of great arts events and attractions here year-round, but the calendar is especially full in the spring,” said Sara Brish, executive director of the SPACVB. “With this promotion, we wanted to give visitors a chance to learn a little bit about all the different types of art they can find in the Stevens Point Area.”
The SPACVB has focused its efforts on arts promotion every spring for the last several years, Brish said, identifying April as “Arts Month” and highlighting the numerous arts events put on by local organizations.
This year’s event calendar is as full as ever. Here’s a look at some of the upcoming arts events visitors can find in the Stevens Point area:
- The Riverfront Arts Center’s annual Peeps exhibit, which runs every day (except Easter) through April 15.
- Tony- and Grammy-award winner Audra McDonald at @1800 Theater (April 8)
- Danstage, the UW-Stevens Point Department of Theater and Dance’s annual performance of faculty and guest choreographers’ works (April 10-12 and 15-18)
- The Stevens Point Festival of the Arts (April 19)
