This page is dedicated to the Music Express Polka Band
The Music Express was formed back in 1991 with Don Wayerski on drums and Tom Smrz on Concertina. We started out with small jobs as the Polish Pride Band finished up with jobs in 91 and disbanded. We at that time were a 2 piece band. Since then we expanded with the a new member Tom Obst on 2nd Concertina in 2001. The band has Drums and 2 concertinas, one a electronic StarVox Streamline and a regular Streamline in the Key of "C". And in July of 2003 DON WAYERSKI has Left the band to form a new band and we wish Don Well. The Express  Added Joe Chojnacki to the Group to take over the drumming. Joe & I started out in 1975 playing with the Polish Trio along with Ken Cekosh.As of November 2003 Tom Obst has left the band. The band is taking big steps in 2004 with the addition of John Sopa on Bass and 6 string guitar, Rick Phillip on Trumpet . In January of 2006 Joe Chojnacki has left the band and newest member Benjamin Gaboda has started and plays 2nd Concertina and Violin.. August of 2006 the Music Express has Disbanded and a New band has Started called the POLONIA SOUND.  More info on the band to follow soon.AS OF SEPTEMBER 25 THE LAST POLKAFEST SHOW WAS BROADCAST FROM WIZD 99.9 AND OCTOBER 1 THE SHOW MOVED TO 106.5 WYTE. On a sad note Pat Shanahan passed away 3/10/08 and I really miss him. Rest in peace Pat. Tom Smrz is also Host along with Ken Cekosh on the WYTE Polkafest every Sunday 7 to 12 PM on  106.5 WYTE.
