PADDLE ON

Bear Lake

Located at the base of Standing Rocks County Park, Bear Lake is mostly undeveloped and features steep slopes on the north and south shores.

Collins Lake

Located three miles southwest of Rosholt, Collins Lake offers an attractive mix of bottom material (including marl), not to mention a beach and campground.

McDill Pond

Another impoundment of the Plover River, McDill Pond has a fair amount of development along its shoreline, there are some notable natural areas like the Erickson Audubon Wildlife Area or a section of the Green Circle Trail.

Pickerel Lake

Comprising a state natural area by the same name, Pickerel Lake offers 40 acres of predominantly undeveloped shoreline. Like many lakes in Portage County, Pickerel Lake is a seepage lake.

Wolf Lake

Featuring what may well be the wildest setting of them all, Wolf Lake is only doubly large as it is deep, but offers an attractive shoreline of sand and marl, and a public park to its east.
