Orange Barrel Art Tour
What is the Orange Barrel Art Tour?
The Orange Barrel Art Tour is a collaboration between the Stevens Point Area Convention and Visitors Bureau along with CREATE portage county. Together they teamed up to promote the region's creative spirit and put a unique spin on road construction season. The project aims to add the right splash of temporary art to make drivers smile, encourage them off the roads (intentionally), or otherwise offer relief from the hassle that construction season brings.
Through a partnership with Mega Rentals, retired orange barrels dreaming of a new life purpose will be available to come to life as public art. Clever and enterprising artists created sculptures that make use of the barrels appropriate for public display.
