The 280-acre natural area on the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point campus offers five miles of trails in addition to serving as the headquarters for the Green Circle. The Trail of Reflections is roughly a 1/2 mile trail, that is wheelchair accessible. The trail, which includes a reflection pond and a tree house, is a great place for wildlife viewing.
No pets are allowed in Schmeekle Reserve. If you want to explore a longer trail check out the Lake Loop Trail which is about 1 mile looping around Lake Joanis. Or explore the University Trail which is 1.5 miles. There are also shorter trails to check out, such as the Berard Oaks Savanna Trail and the Plank Trail. Parking is available at the Schmeeckle Reserve Visitor Center at 2419 North Point Drive, Stevens Point.
Supported by the University of WI-Stevens Point, this facility provides visitors with an opportunity to enjoy wildlife and relax as you follow the reserve's walking trails and tour the Visitor's Center. Gift shop on site.
