The past meets the present and beer meets food for a new fundraising dinner event announced today by the Portage County Historical Society. Presented by the Boldt Company, “Lagers and Loggers” pairs the food of longstanding Rockman’s Catering with beer from Point Brewery, Stevens Point’s oldest company, and one of the nation's oldest breweries. The event will take place on October 5th starting at 5:30 p.m. at the historic Pfiffner Building located at 401 Franklin Street in Stevens Point. This three-course dinner will feature hearty fall fare, with beers that complement each flavor. Additionally, live bluegrass music from Sloppy Joe side project, The Foragers, will keep guests entertained before and after the dinner portion, which is sponsored by Heartland Custom Homes.
“It’s been a long time since PCHS has held an annual dinner event,” says PCHS Executive Director John Harry. “We want to create a memorable experience that plays off of two heritage industries in Portage County, lumber and beer, while joining with our friends and neighbors to celebrate our shared past.” Harry will give an address during the festivities to update guests on the progress and goals of PCHS’s educational programs.
Guests are encouraged to wear their very best lumberjack flannel attire. Tickets for “Lagers and Loggers” are extremely limited and on sale now via pchswi.org/lagers. Table sponsorships and individual tickets are available. Any questions can be emailed directly to Executive Director John Harry at email@example.com.
