  • All are Invited to a Juneteenth Celebration! Educating, Connecting, & Empowering. Join us in recognizing this holiday by connecting with Black folks in the Stevens Point community and celebrating together —this year and every year hereafter.

My name is Marion Schneider, a West African American, who is passionate about bringing people together and social equity. I want this special day to be celebrated by everyone. However it cannot be celebrated, without first recognizing the Black identity in our community.
As such, my celebration will specifically focus on teaching people how to remember and celebrate Juneteenth annually, how to recognize and stop micro-aggressions Black folks endure in our community because they are not seen as equal in Central Wisconsin, and how, through learning appropriate behavior, we can be inclusive and uplift our Black people as a community.
The Event will include educational booths with materials to facilitate discussions about Black inclusion and valuing diversity.
Don’t worry, learning about inclusion is fun! Stop by our Youth Table, to find an exciting activity for your kids to be part of the Celebration.
Enjoy crunching on your favorite nachos and tacos from Black owner, Earl Poe of Everythang Tacos
And taste some sizzlin’ flavors of the South from Black owner, Erica Shaw of Gifted Hands Kitchen
If you get thirsty, quench your thirst with a nice cup of Lemonade or Sweet Tea!
