Book Adventures

  • Book Adventures are free, 1-hour long events with a new topic each time. Children in grades 1-2 (2017-2018 school year) are welcome attend each Book Adventure at the Main Library, Stevens Point. Children under 8 must have a caregiver remain in the building during the event. Registration for individual events is required and may be done two weeks in advance. All materials provided by the Library.

    June 28th: This week's topic: Don't Lick the Dog. A representation from the Portage County Humane Society will present on pet ownership for kids, followed by pet-themed stories and a craft.

    July 12th: This week's topic: Roll with It. Using paper tubes and other found materials, use your creativity to craft your favorite characters (e.g. Minions!) or animals and make simple machines from plastic gears and wheels.

    July 26h: This week's topic: Forts & Friends. Build simple or elaborate forts, make friends, and share your favorite stories from the cave-like comfort of your newly created dwelling.
