  • The American Suzuki Institute is a two-week music camp where students and families come to Stevens Point to study with world-class faculty. 1,100 people will attend classes and teachers will take teacher training in Suzuki Talent Education. It is the oldest summer Suzuki camp in the world outside of Japan, where this method of teaching started.

    Classes are offered in violin, viola, cello, bass, piano, flute, harp and Suzuki Early Childhood Education during the day and concerts are given at night. These concerts are open to the public and are free of charge. Guest artists will perform at 7:00 pm on Monday nights in the Sentry Theater. Brian Lewis, violin, and Molly Roseman, piano, will play on July 23 and Bridget Kibbey, harp, will perform on July 30. Both are Julliard graduates and concertize around the world. Student performances will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday both weeks in Michelsen Hall in the Noel Fine Arts Center. Festival Concerts will be held in Michelsen Hall at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 4:15 pm on Friday of both weeks. A violin Festival Concert will be given at 7:00 pm on each Friday night in the Sentry Theater.
