Spring is a wonderful time to explore the Stevens Point Area. Trails are open for hiking and biking, outdoor art is ready for admiration and fishing season is right around the corner.

The Stevens Point Area also offers a great selection of fun seasonal events.

Here are some things coming up that are worth checking out.

Spring into Action

Schmeeckle Reserve is the site of a fun event on April 16 that celebrates the coming of spring on the trails. Discover the science of phenology (the study of natural events tied to temperature). Observe the signs of spring, such as arriving critters and plants that unveil eye-opening mysteries and expose telling native legends.

Prairie Chicken Festival

The Central Wisconsin Children’s Museum is hosting a series of fun prairie chicken-themed events on Saturdays. The next events take place at the museum on April 18 and April 25. The museum is located at 1100 Main St., Stevens Point.

Discover treasure on May 2 at the Amherst-wide Swap-O-Rama. The Amherst-wide community rummage sale takes over the town with great deals.

Standing Rocks Disc Golf Tournament

The Standing Rocks County Park will be the site of a disc golf tournament that will draw some top competitors. The tournament takes place May 2-3.
