Join me on my dining adventure to Stevens Point Area restaurants as we follow our fork. This blog is part of a video series that highlights farm to fork cuisine. For more information on farm to fork cuisine, check out the Central Wisconsin Farm Fresh Atlas.

My dining adventure continues at Christian’s Bistro in Plover. When I walked in I automatically knew that the food would be as comforting as the atmosphere. Chef Andy whipped up the St. Patrick’s Day special for me and putting my fork down was hard. There was an explosion of flavor from the garlic, corned beef, onions, potatoes, and fennel vinaigrette tossed slaw. The dish was topped with a poached egg which gave it a nice creamy texture.

What to know:

  • Everything is made from scratch and can be modified by request. Vegetarian? Not a problem. The team is very accommodating. The menu changes quite often so there are a variety of dishes for you to try. Chefs also create special menus for different events. They recently hosted a theme dinner with special wine pairings, Springtime in Italy.

  • Christian’s Bistro has an open concept kitchen and you can sit at the counter to see your meal being prepared!

  • Christian’s has a great wine sommelier. There is a selection of wine that you’re not likely to find anywhere locally. If you love the wine you had, you may be able to purchase the bottle! Let the chef make you something special and indulge in a chef pairing dinner. Enjoy a three-course meal that isn’t on the menu with the perfectly paired glass of wine for each course!

A big thank you to Chef Andy for letting me come in and taste the St. Patrick’s Day special. I will definitely be back to try more food. Find your perfect meal at Christian’s Bistro!
