Outdoor Fall Fun

With fall colors on full display, get outside and take in all the incredible local views! Take a walk around the 280-acre Schmeeckle Reserve or more specifically, do the Lake Loop for scenic, waterline fall views. Then, mix art with fall colors at the Stevens Point Sculpture Park. With art from local, regional, and national artists, the park has its own beautiful features that perfectly complement fall colors.

Looking for more mileage? Hop on the Green Circle Trail for 27 miles of gorgeous fall views. Bike, walk, or run any of the trails breathing in the fresh, crisp fall air. Take your biking experience to the next level at Standing Rocks County Park. The park has just over 13 miles of mountain bike single-track trails for beginners to experts and is set in a wooded, hilly landscape that makes for undeniable views.

Go beyond the trails this season and explore fall color by car or kayak. Hit the road and view fall driving through the county on tree-lined roads to find your favorite spots, with inspiration from our guide to fall color routes with our Insider's Guide. Change it up even more by getting out on the water this fall. Paddle your way through the Tomorrow River (for experienced paddlers) or the Blue Heron Island Loop (for less experienced paddlers).

Fall Food and Drink

Sip through the Craft Collective this fall. Try District 1's pastry sour apple pie that highlights all the notes of grandma's apple pie, or take a seat at Sunset Point Winery for a tasting of their Helene's Honey Crisp Wine that uses apples straight from Helene's Apple Orchard. Searching for the perfect pumpkin spice drink? Head over to Ruby Cafe and try their pumpkin spice chai latte - made with pumpkins from local farmers!

Find local flavor sure to satisfy any fall cravings. Stop in any Friday during October at Main Grain Bakery for a bite of homemade pizza paired with wine from the Caravan Wine Shop. Grab a flurry at Belt's before they close for the season. Sit by the cozy fire pit at PJ's and try one of their hearty soups. Or, grab some tasty treats from a local food truck like Purple Basil, Chef C's Munchie Mobile, Hanuman Express, or Kasuns. Each truck offers unique cuisine from Barbecue and classic American to Italian and Asian dishes.

Looking to swap out your typical dining options for something new? Check out Sunday Brunch on the Farm at Lonley Oak Farm. With farm to plate food options, everything is locally grown and ethically sourced.

Fun Fall Activities

Get out and about this spooky season with a visit to Feltz's Dairy Store. While their corn maze is all treats and no tricks from September 11 to October 30, they hold their haunted corn maze nights at the end of October full of tricks! Opting to stay inside instead? Head over to the Point Pumpkin Patch and pick out the perfect pumpkin to carve at home.

Are you an art enthusiast? If so, get excited. Three incredible murals have been added to the downtown community through the Paint the County initiative this summer and have all finished just in time for fall. With one located on the side of Father Fats, another behind Franciscans and Process, and one near Mitchell Square, they're all an easy walk away. Head indoors to warm up at Gallery Q and view their "Fall Into Art" exhibit. Or, take it one step further and experience local artists along the Ice Age Trail during the Hidden Studios Art Tour.

Get in on the action this fall. Spend an afternoon lounging at the new Point Patio at the Point Brewery. Stroll downtown and take a look around the farmer's market. Listen to live music downtown on the square for Notes at Night or at indoor venues such as District 1 or Rookies Sports Pub. (Or, take a look at other fall events and join in on the fun.)
