Looking for some fun places in the Stevens Point Area to spend time with fido? Check out this post for input to take your dog outdoors, indoors, and everything in between.
Your dog will love exploring the 27 miles of trails on the Green Circle Trail! With multiple sections, you can choose which route you and your furry friend want to take, or choose to do the whole thing. The Green Circle Trail is open year-round, so you can enjoy in sun or snow. Just be sure to avoid the University Trail and Schmeeckle Reserve as they are not pet-friendly.
For an artsy adventure, visit the Stevens Point Sculpture Park with your dog. As a detour from the Brickyard Trail part of the Green Circle Trail, this half-mile segment is jam-packed with regional, national, and international art!
Enjoy 24 miles of beautiful rural scenery on the rails to trails area, the Tomorrow River State Trail. Or, if you're not the trail type, talk a walk around the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point campus where your pup will feel right at home with the Pointers. For fun parks for the whole family, check out Bukolt Park, Pfiffner Pioneer Park, or Iverson Park.
Wags and Water
The Stevens Point Area is lucky to have the Wisconsin River and plenty of lakes nearby for fido and the family to enjoy. The Wisconsin River is the perfect place for boating, fishing, ice fishing, sandbars, and more that your pet can be a part of!
If you enjoy the lake life, take your dog to Pickerel Lake in Almond and enjoy a walk surrounding upland wooded with oaks of varying sizes and ages. Let your dog have the time of their life by jumping off the boat landing at Sunset Lake Park.
Bring 'em in!
There are some great places in the Stevens Point Area that let you take your furry friend right in with you. Sip on some delicious beer with your dog by your side at O'so Brewing Company. Or, shop with your pooch at The Companion Shop in downtown Stevens Point. While you're there, you can give your dog a bath at their do-it-yourself pet wash, let them run around the pet play area, or simply let them pick out a toy all their own!
If you need a place to stay with your pet in tow, book the Country Mission Farm near Lake DuBay where you can enjoy a private 4-bedroom country home where you and your pooch can enjoy the sites around you and outdoor activities available to you. Check out more pet-friendly lodging here.
Better yet, let your dog visit us here at the Visitor's Center!
Unfortunately, some activities with your best friends need to wait until the weather warms up, but they are worth the wait!
Take your dog to Belt's Soft Serve, where you can get an ice cream cone and your pet can enjoy a pup cone from this hometown favorite. For more fun in the sun and delicious food and drink, visit Emy J's Coffee House and Cafe and sit outside with your dog. If craft brews are more your fancy, sit outside at Central Waters Brewing Company, where you can enjoy their delicious beer and catch some live music with your fur baby by your side.
Things to Remember:
