3. Refreshing Drinks

4. Vibrant Public Art

While public art is always on display, it shines brighter in the summer sun. View a mix of old school historical and recent Paint the County initiative murals scattered in every corner of the county. While each one makes for the perfect Instagram backdrop, each holds its own special meaning.

5. Al-Fresco Eats

You can't beat dining outside in the summertime. Pull up the boat and dine on the water at Bahamas Lounge or Tiki Beach Bar & Grill. Sit out on the patio at PJ's Restaurant enjoying their spacious, cozy ambiance. Surround yourself with outdoor lights at Father Fats. Or don't miss the live music on the patio at Guu's on Main.

6. 4th of July Festivities

Enjoy a community celebration like no other with Riverfront Rendezvous. The celebration spans three days and is full of fun events and fantastic live music. Cap the entire weekend off with a fireworks show on the last night of the event.

7. Farmers' Market Finds

Beginning on the first weekend in May and going through October, the farmers' market is located on the square in downtown Stevens Point. Don't miss out on locally grown produce, fresh flowers, and other unique items by browsing through all the different vendors on a daily basis (with Saturdays being the biggest day).

Read our guide on how to shop the market to get the most out of your visit to the market.

8. Local Camping

For a retreat close to nature, get out and experience some of the area's best campgrounds. County and state campgrounds have great amenities, secluded sites, and many times direct water access. Private campgrounds offer additional amenities - some including on-site restaurants, horseback riding, and cabins.
